Update on LA3. New documents

An update on LA3… There have been a number of updates to the planning application.  The updates are associated with the report from HCC Highways who reject the planning application! Before we all get carried away, the rejection seems largely on the basis of lack of information.  The developers have responded by submitting more information.  These updates are solely to do with Highways, so in some ways they have been a help to us in that we have had another opportunity to spell out our concerns.  We have done so through the normal channel of DBC but have included HCC and our councillors in the circulation.  Our submission is shown below. As well as containing our response it contains a link enabling you to access earlier material which you may find useful if you wish to add to your own initial submission. We hope you will. •             Bourne End Proposals for Surrounding Lanes •...

Family Fun Cricket Day 1st September

Image
We are looking forward to a great event on 1st September.  Do come along and bring friends and family.  There will be a "family" soft ball cricket session for children and their parents, followed by a 20 - 20 match for more experienced players.  But no need to join in the cricket at all - just come along and enjoy an afternoon of food, drinks, music and games.  If you'd like to join the 20-20 game, please contact Charlie (as in the flyer) or Hugo on 07958 457373

From the Archive: The Bourne Ender Summer 1989

Thanks to Steve and Frances Fletcher who have been clearing out their house after 38 years before their move to Milton Keynes, we can share with you the Bourne Ender from 30 years ago.  Do let us have your comments. Do you remember any of this? Did Sarah's kittens go to a good home? Who won the cake competition at the Village Show?

Spring Clean the Village - views from the litter pick

Image
Thank you to the 18 volunteers who turned out to clear up the verges, the towpath and the lanes.  In all, 56 bags of rubbish were collected. Some of this was from fly-tipping on the hard standing at the north end of Pix Farm Lane.  We are particularly grateful to the team from MacDonalds who are sensitive to the fact that much of the litter problem, especially in Upper Bourne End Lane, is caused by their customers. They do employ someone to go out and collect rubbish every day, but it seems this is not enough to counter the wave of refuse from all the activity in that part of the village. It was a productive morning and Jenny from the Anchor rewarded us all with coffee and a chance to sit and chat.   Many thanks everyone.

Reminder to Register your Objections to LA3

It is extremely important that as many voices as possible are heard.  This flyer, which was delivered to each house last week, sets out very clearly exactly how to do this.  Please set aside just a few minutes today to have your say...
