Text of Cllr Gbole Adeleke's Statement

Below is the statement that Cllr Adeleke was blocked from delivering at the LA3 Meeting on 28th November LA3 THURSDAY 29 NOVEMBER 2019 The Council’s Master Plan is part of the Government led national initiative to address, not only the Housing shortages but to provide sufficient living accommodation for the future generation But let me be absolutely clear Neither myself nor the Residents I represent object to the “Adopted Policy LA3 and the Master Plan” However, in as much as we All agree that the Housing crisis need to be addressed and addressed urgently, the proposed LA3 Development Plan vary considerably from the original Masters Plan in substance, practicality and credibility The Developers’ Plans have breached ALL Legal, Local, County and Government Guidelines The proposed LA3 Plan, as it stands, will impact negatively on the Residents of Bourne End and have more far reaching consequences for the wider communities of West Hemel Hempstead And I will now address some of the

Message from Councillor Gbola Adeleke

Below is a message received for Councillor Gbola Adeleke. Dear Residents, I am deeply saddened that the Hearing ended up in a Negative result for us. I want to seize this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you, especially other silent Bourne End Residents, who shared in our fight for fairness and common sense. I will continue to support you and fight your corner. I sincerely hope this result will not discourage you from continuing to stand up for what is right for you and for Bourne End. Councillor Gbola Adeleke As some of you may know, we have three councillors.                 Cllr Gbola Adeleke                 Cllr Graham Barrettt                 Cllr Stewart Riddick Gbola was blocked from speaking at the last minute on the grounds that it breached council policy as he was not a councillor for the development ward. Stewart was on the Planning Committee and if he had chosen to speak, he would have been unable to vote.  He chose to remain on the com

Busy Week in Bourne End

Thank you to everyone who attended the Family Fun Cricket Day last Sunday. We were blessed with perfect weather which, in turn, brought out the crowds, including our MP David Gauke, who took much needed time out from politics and bowled an alarmingly good over to open the second innings. Please enjoy Dave Hill's match report below and photos of the day. Tomorrow evening, Thursday 5th September, is Village Night in the Anchor . Come along and meet your BEVA reps and relax with friends and neighbours. Then on Sunday 8th, it is the Annual Village Show . All details have been distributed to every household. See the flyer below. MATCH REPORT BOURNE END CC v THE VILLAGE Thoughts from the Long Room – Cricket or Quidditch? Update on LA3. New documents

An update on LA3… There have been a number of updates to the planning application.  The updates are associated with the report from HCC Highways who reject the planning application! Before we all get carried away, the rejection seems largely on the basis of lack of information.  The developers have responded by submitting more information.  These updates are solely to do with Highways, so in some ways they have been a help to us in that we have had another opportunity to spell out our concerns.  We have done so through the normal channel of DBC but have included HCC and our councillors in the circulation.  Our submission is shown below. As well as containing our response it contains a link enabling you to access earlier material which you may find useful if you wish to add to your own initial submission. We hope you will. •             Bourne End Proposals for Surrounding Lanes •             Planning Letter LA3 (This is our initial submission) •             Bourne

Family Fun Cricket Day 1st September

We are looking forward to a great event on 1st September.  Do come along and bring friends and family.  There will be a "family" soft ball cricket session for children and their parents, followed by a 20 - 20 match for more experienced players.  But no need to join in the cricket at all - just come along and enjoy an afternoon of food, drinks, music and games.  If you'd like to join the 20-20 game, please contact Charlie (as in the flyer) or Hugo on 07958 457373
